So I recently well actually it was about a year ago but I filmed this Nigerian Engagement Ceremony. I did provide an edit where you can watch the whole thing but I also created this lovely music video too.

The ceremony was just too cute and colorful not to make an MV.

So here is Kemi and Jake Doll's Traditional Engagement Ceremony.

I don't know how this post slipped by me for three months.  I'm going to have to quit relying on the "Show unread posts.." option, I guess.

One comment - I was particularly struck by the lack of close-ups.  (I only watched about half, but still there should have been several close-ups in here).  Close-ups are what video does best.  You should always mix you shots - wide, normal, close-ups and not just run a bunch of same-type shots together in a scene unless you have a particular purpose in doing so.  Also, there didn't seem (maybe I missed it) to be a single tripod-mounted shot nor Glidecam shot - all just handheld.  We could probably count the number of people who are good enough hand-holders to shoot entire videos that way, on one hand.  Sure, many do it, but does it add or take away from their production?
