Here are a couple of video interviews that foresee 3d television without glasses becoming popular within four to five years.

Four to five years for broadcast networks to fully have the real possibility of producing consistent 3D programming.  How much time to implement everywhere?  Unknown.  How much additional time for the technology to become easily available to independent wedding videographers?   Probably a bit longer, but probably sooner than I would expect.  Will definitely need computers and storage at least 8 time more powerful and bigger than currently available.

Not sure now whether I want to participate or not.  Probably will, but the possibility of fishing full time is extraordinarily enticing.
In the meantime, I just attended a couple real theatre performances in NYC.  3d actors, 3d sets (some 2d effects) and 4d+ imagination.  Can't get better than that!

Full-time fishing beats all other options, hands down!

NY?  You've been traveling!  Next time you go through Oklahoma, give me a shout.

As for the 3d - the sets are already here and they're priced low enough.  Consumer 3d cams are here for just $1300.  Even though it may be a few years before 3d takes off the glasses, a wedding video just might be special enough to wear them.
