Hey Guys, I am new to this forum as I just started doing wedding videos.

My colleague and I have just finished the highlights to our first video, would love to get some feedback from others in the same business.

Let me know! Thanks.

I realise this is rather an old forum, I hope there are still active users!

If this was your first video then you have a great future.   There was some nice editing in there too.

As I am sure you are well aware, working with DSLR for video is not the easiest of tasks.  The opening scene where the camera walked towards the cushion was not to my liking.  It was shaky and kept coming in and out of focus.  That's personal opinion and preference, so take it with a pinch of salt.  Others here will like it.  If it's a style you particularly like and have chosen then it's perfectly acceptable.  Different clients look for different things.

I'm not a huge fan of hand held shaky footage in general and like to stabilise everything because (to me and most of my clients) shaky footage is synonymous with home movies and Uncle Bob. Again it doesn't bother many others around here, so if it doesn't bother you, and more importantly your clients, shaky footage is OK too!

For a first film I think you have done well...... keep it up!

Oh, and yes - it seems to have gone quiet around here.... though I'm sure there are many more readers than posters.   Perhaps you can encourage more to post Smiley

Thank you for the feedback and the kind comments!

Yeah the edit did take me a while and though I was happy with basically all of it, there were some issues that simply could not be fixed no matter how much time was spent on them.
I did about 10 takes of the opener and just could not get it to work well so had to just go with the best one...

And yeah the hand held aesthetic seemed to be the best way to work it on the day as we were light-on in the gear dept. and had to work with what we had.

Again really appreciate your feedback!
