My husband doesn't like the idea of doing this.  Do you do this?  What is your philosophy on filming the people eating with the video camera?  Tacky, or ok to do?

We never film people eating, or at least do our absolute best to avoid it.  Occasionally at the champagne receptions you can't avoid people munching through the canapes, but in general, 'eating' never looks very elegant no matter what you are eating, how you are stood/sat, what you are wearing or what the surroundings are.

I love to get shots of guests and it often seems that no matter when you look, at least a few people are eating.  Although I prefer to avoid mouths that are receiving shovel-loads of food, I don't worry too much about it.  I just go through the tables and shoot, then decide what to include when editing.  Couples love that we include lots of guest shots.
