I've got a slew of emails from those of you who are going to wait until the end of the wedding season to apply for certification.  That, plus the fact that we are a new organization, means we currently only have a few states covered with certified wedding videographers.

So, here's the deal - send us your best (from this year) wedding video.  It must have at least one person singing or speaking (beside fob; minister; groom) to show us that you can use more than one mic.  If we feel that you do good work, we'll add you to our REFERRAL LIST.

If we do not like your work, we'll send you the score sheets and critiques so you have feedback.  We will NOT - not upon ANY circumstances - mention or publish your name in any way, shape or form.  There is absolutely no negative consequences for sending us a video that we deem unsatisfactory.  No one will know except you and our three judges, all sworn to secrecy.

What this means is that when we get email or phone calls from brides (and this is happening with greater frequency!) wanting a referral, if we do not have a certified wedding videographer within their area, we will go to the Referral List and refer one of these, non-certified wedding videographers.

What can be better than FREE business???

Send your wedding videos

I just got an email and I've got to quote part of it here -

Quote
I know what you're talking about, with the one-cam wonders roaming around out there. I had a gal call me the other day and ask why I'm charging twice as much as this other "videographer" (and I'm using the term loosely) in the area. Well, I happened to run into this guy at an expo last year, and so I was able to tell her exactly why - I have two to three more cameras at the ceremony, a second videographer, as many as 7 microphones (compared to his one single one), and I've been in video production since I was 15, before NLE's even existed outside of billion-dollar studios. Needless to say, we're doing her wedding this upcoming May.

Thank goodness there are at least SOME real wedding videographers out there!

Hank, you should post this on the bride's side of the forums.
