Today I sat down and was doing some brief channel surfing and came across Pirates of the Caribbean 2. As I watched it I realized that I was particularly drawn to the musical score thinking what a great demo score that would make...then it hit me, "This sounds just like Adam's." Is that where that came from Adam?

One more question. When you have those white flash transitions in your video, are you just using a "white" clip and a fade transition or is there some other diffusion tweaking going on?

I'm sure Adam will post his answer, but here's how i do it -

I make a new white matte and lay it on three frames in the video track above the active one.  I set the opacity to about half on the first and last frame.  A nice effect is to split the activ clip where the 100% opacity white matte is, do a frame-hold and set to b&w.

Of course, an actual flash takes less than 1/30th second, but I think the above method gives a nicer effect.

Awesome man!

I gotta work on something like that too.  Just need the right song.  I loved how you had a couple with the King Arthur outfits going on.  Really fit the fell of the music!

Hey guys, sorry I've been so busy lately and haven't posted much. Yeah, that was the song from "Pirates". I wanted something upbeat and dramatic (and short) and I remembered that song from a wedding I did last year (they used it for their recessional of all things!). Glad you liked it!

The "flashes" were simply a dip to white (CS3 has that standard now). Before CS3 I did the effect pretty much like Hank said.
