Hello Everyone,
Here is my latest highlight. This is the first of our upgraded packages this year, so along with their package they get a hosted trailer. This wedding was extremely difficult for me for several reasons. Number one I love this chrurch and shooting here, but under that balcony is very dark. This is where I did most of my testing for the A1. The lighting conditions change based on where you are in the room and I had a very tough time white balance. The other thing we found out when we went to rehearsal is that the bride's sister is singing after the parents are seated and right before the bridal party walks in. I pointed my HV20 at the spot where here sister was going to be and started praying. I collected b-roll from my location under the balcony and was able to stitch it together in the edit. The church raised the lights on the alter as soon as the bride came in, so my second camera was overexposed while I was moving into place on the balcony and my third camera is pointing at the spot where her sister was but now is gone, so that sucks. The best part was that they had planned to WALK from the ceremony to the reception with a bagpiper leading the way. We had not been told of this so we had the car packed ready to drive to the reception, and had to ditch all of our stuff, and pray that what we had on us would carry us through the first dance & cake cutting. We went back for the car after a break and didn't miss anythng thank god. I put an extra tape in my pocket right before the party went outside... whew. Long day. 3:00-11:30 but they paid full price thank god. Anyway here's the highlight. Edit and highlight are finished and should be delivered next week.

Pretty good vid!

Couple questions or "things".  Is that Coldplay?

The background audio when she kisses her dad in the beginning, was that on there for a reason?

The part of the song where you pause on her eyes, matching the lyrics was pretty good...a slow motion turn towards the camera and pause on her eyes would've been bad A$$ though!

Those tall candles along the aisle didn't do you any favors I bet...lol.

My car side made me disappointed when the car pulled away lame.  I'd have left that crowd in a huge cloud of tire smoke....lol.

I'm a picky sob, but that was really nice quality overall....good song too.

Thanks Damian for the comments,
The song is Mat Kearney but sounds just like Colplay eh? The audio of the greeting was just missed really, and too late to pull it out type of thing. Yeah I wonder sometimes with tall candles and altar decorations if they are just trying to block everyone from a good view or just me. Smiley Did you hear at the ed "Turn the lights on Bob" that has been a joke around here and with the family since this one. The car belinged to her dad, and her grandfather was driving. He wasn't sure about the gears either... Great family. Thanks for the comments...

I had to get awfully nit-picky to find anything to grump about in this video.  Overall, this is a superb highlights video.

If this is indicative of Bill's work, he is definitely in the top five percent of wedding videographers.

A tip of the hat to Bill Grant!

Bill,

The song was a great choice.  The shots were solid and the whole thing was condensed very nicely.  Perfect length.  I really enjoyed watching this video.  It almost makes a person want to get married if they are not already.  I guess that is our job, huh?

Bill,

Video looked really good man. I feel like I'm repeating my self as I just watched your other new trailer about 5 seconds ago.

But again, I'll use this opportunity to pick your brain.

What % slow are you using?

For being free hand your slow-motion shots look really, really good to me.

Great work mate!

hey Jordan,
thanks for the comments. I will have to check but I don't think I used much slomo for this one just because of the pace of the song. I remember using on the dip shot but nowhere else but the end. Typically I try 52% first, and see where that goes. I shoot with the idea of using what I shot in real time so I try to concentrate as much on composition and content as anything. you can thank the Von Lankens for the handheld techniques. I went to their one on one training in Tulsa and it changed my shooting completely. good luck and thanks again.
