Upgrading from CS3 to CS4 has been quite an experience - and not really a positive one.

Now, perhaps the last straw, I find that they've done away with Ultra - the program that made keying easy and included lots of cool backgrounds, etc.

To give an idea of the value of Ultra, I paid $1000 for the original, before Adobe bought them out.  Ultra was still in CS3 and was still a great program.  But my "upgrade" to CS4 caused me to lose this great program.

That's right, Adobe has dropped Ultra in CS4.  It's gone, gone, gone.  An easy $1000 value just dropped from the suite without a word.

Adobe sucks!

Ouch, ouch and OUCH!

I think they still sell Ultra?  Call and demand a new copy.  I was REALLY interested in that product until Adobe bought it.  They were really doing some cool stuff at that company.  What a waste.  Can you imagine the Corporate benefits you could advertise with this?  That was actually my plan since I have 15 year Production Management/Eng.

Best,

Todd

I installed CS3 on another computer, so we still have that version of Ultra, thankfully.  The Creative Cow and other forums are full of people trying to buy used copies of CS3 in order to get Ultra.  I can find no word from Adobe on the matter whatsoever.

According to Adobe sales, Ultra has been discontinued. They might be planning to use it's technology in some CS5 suite.
